Almost Real
Almost Real is a collection of songs that were recorded 2007-2009. Due to a rich array of less than ideal variables the album was never quite finished. I’m not particularly at peace with some of these onetime working mixes, but am likely unable to address this anytime in the foreseeable future.
Almost Real is the first album in the Almost Real Trilogy.
Broken
Broken began in 2007 as a collection of improv based instrumentals. The recordings were set aside and forgotten for a few years. They were then remembered and developed before being set aside and forgotten for a few more years. They were then remembered and developed and abandoned again. Eventually they were remembered, touched up, and mixed in 2021.
Broken is the second album in the Almost Real Trilogy.
Dominions Peak Reserve
A collection of previously unfinished, abandoned songs initially recorded 2000-2010 and updated, finished 2020-2021. These recordings feature the original lead vocals, bass, guitar, keyboards and “drums”. Recent additions include a fair amount of additional guitar and backing vocals.
Dominions Peak Reserve is the third album in the Almost Real Trilogy.
Thanks For Listening
Thanks For Listening is built upon an hour-long vocal and drum improv session I recorded in 2014 that produced 48 tracks. As I developed the recording I whittled it down to 23 tracks (still arranged in the order they were initially written/recorded). This is one of the few times I attempted a Goodness Knows Best inspired improv session playing a drum kit as opposed to lap “drums”. The drums and most of the lead vocal parts are from the original improv (I re-sang most of the lead vocals, due to pitch issues associated with my playing drums and singing without any musical accompaniment).

15 Favorite tracks from once upon a time cassette only “releases”. Recorded at home on a Fostex 250 4-track cassette recorder 1983-1985. Includes the tracks Not the Same, Release Me, Standing By the Door, Different Touch, and Everybody’s Wrong.

15 Favorite tracks from once upon a time cassette only “releases”. Recorded 1986-1988 at home on a Tascam 38 8-track. Includes the tracks Only Dreaming, When You Walk On By, Only a Moment, My Love, and Head Full of Light.

Originally released in 1991 under the name Vivian Section. Features the tracks Alice in Drag, At the Station, Charlotte Pretends, Never Comes the Day, and I Wish I Was a Fish.
