Goodness Knows Best

About

Raw Now

Goodness Knows Best is a handy allocation and presentation device cooked up by an individual called John Ross. John is a singer/songwriter who writes and records songs. He also records a heavy helping of Melodic Brain Toots (quickly performed vocal and lap drum song sketches). He edits the influx of these generally spontaneous, melodic, instrument-free outbursts on his computer using a program called Audacity and calls the resultant edited sketches Raw Now recordings. He then organizes these tracks into something he calls Goodness Knows Best Raw Now Volumes. Filed within this scope of premise, these wee melodic moments are then easily accessible for development within John’s various musical contexts. Many Raw Now tracks also provide an arguably enjoyable listen “as is”. Raw Now tracks have provided the foundation for several albums by The Pop Nods. There are currently 57 Raw Now volumes. Most of them feature stimulating cover art. Click on the covers above to see (much) larger versions.
